Charlie Sorto

Head Band Director

Mr. Sorto is a graduate of Mississippi State University where he recieved a Bachelor of Music.  Mr. Sorto has spent the past 5 years working for Quitman School District as the band director.  Mr. Sorto also coaches girls powerlifting.

When asked why he chose to work at Quitman School District, Mr. Sorto said, "Quitman is home, I grew up here."

Mr. Sorto's most rewarding part about working for QSD is watching the students grow and have success when they leave for college or the professional world.

The Big Blue Crew band program has a rich history of success.  For decades, the Quitman High School band has been successful in both marching and concert endeavors.  Students can begin band as a 6th grader.  The directors work with students to ensure they are successful with their instrument.  Many 8th graders get the opportunity to join the high school band on the marching field each season.

There are many opportunities that are offered to band students.

  • Indoor Color Guard
